The Government does not advance the two sales in January bec PDF Print E-mail

The Government does not advance the sales of January because of supply and demand balance.

The Government will not follow in the footsteps of the three regions that have decided to bring forward sales in January to two days of this month to take the campaign to revive the Kings and commercial business through increased consumption with lower prices, as confirmed yesterday this newspaper to official sources of the Department of Industry
Extremadura has just approved the measure, its sales, as in the rest of autonomies, started the seven-January, which has joined Madrid. Andalusia is processed through an emergency decree to proceed to the advancement. The Galician regional government, by contrast, has ruled out implementing such a measure.

Last Thursday, the Consumers Union of Spain (UCE) in Valencia issued a statement urging the Government to also advance sales. However, the Administration will ignore this request. The aforementioned sources explained that the industry department of the Council "means that there is a balance between consumer demand and supply of trade, why not see a need to change something that is good like that."

Benefits

The Ministry acknowledges that the measure "might" benefit the consumer, but remember that neither the organizations that represent them and the traders have moved to the Government, through the Trade Oberservatorio, a formal request in this regard. Moreover, these sources pointed out that traders called Alicante, at the time, just the opposite, that is delayed.

In its communique, the UCE believed that progress would contribute to reviving the commercial sector and benefit the economic interests of consumers. " The organization added in the note that "the current crisis, with falling sales in the commercial sector, has prompted the emergence of promotions and discounts at establishments throughout Spain with products at low prices without consideration or denomination sales and therefore without the protection of consumer rights. " EUA concludes that "on 2, 3, 4 and January 5 users and consumers carry out a large number of purchases and in this regard, the Union believes that could benefit consumers and promote their economic interests."

In this connection, the president of the Valencian Association of Consumers and Users (Avacu), Fernando Moner, recently presented the results of the survey in the area of Valencia on the estimated expenditure for these Christmas. The result was that the financial outlay for the coming holidays will be the same as the previous year to just over 36% of respondents, for a slightly lower 32% and much lower for 17.58%, ie 50% with the sum of the two cases, however, a 2.42% said their spending will be much greater and a 11.52%, slightly higher. The reasons for the change in spending will be mainly to increased prices, which will lead to a cutback in consumer purchases. The sector that generates more disbursement to consumers in the holiday gift, not toys.
