H & M launches in February of household division to compete with Zara Home.
H & M follows the trail of Inditex has dated since its entry into the world of home decor and furnishings. The Swedish company launched in February 2009 a new division, H & M Home. At first, the competitor Zara Home will not have physical stores and is only present in those markets where the distance selling (either online or catalog) is firmly rooted. Specifically, the new division will be launched in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Austria and Holland. For the moment, there is no date set for the landing in Spain, although the subsidiary Iberian are optimistic for its implementation in the near future. Since H & M explained that the new business will not be launched in Spain due to lower-commerce online, compared with that achieved in the Nordic countries. 'It's an exciting time because it will bring home the experience of H & M fashion,' says the responsibility for H & M Home, Maria Lindblom. The line of products range from textiles to kitchen items.
