Billing for services in January collapses.

   The sector recorded the largest fall of all the series in its turnover after a 17% drop and mark a record in job destruction.

The turnover of the market services sector fell 17.6% last January over the same month of 2008, the largest drop recorded since this indicator was developed in early 2003. If you remove the calendar effect, ie the difference in the number of days that shows a month in different years, the rate of turnover of the services sector recorded a decrease of 17.1%. On the other hand, employment decreased by 4.8%, also the highest rate of job destruction to be found in the archives of the National Institute of Statistics.

All sectors fell in January in its turnover compared to a year earlier, especially trade, which registered the largest decline (-20.1%), followed by transport sector (-17.1%), services companies (-13.2%), tourism (-7.6%) and information technology (-6.7%). As for the turnover of the activities, the sale of vehicles, motorcycles and parts fell 42.2% in interannual rate, followed by those related to employment, which fell 40.4%.
