The Spanish consumer confidence rebounded last March and increased 1.6 points, after falling in February, according to figures released today Official Credit Institute (ICO). Worst expectations

Based on the partial indicators, the increase in improving the current situation indicator offset the decline in the expectations indicator.

Thus, the current situation indicator, which rose 4.8 points to 45.7 points as a result of the best opinion with consumers about the economy (+8.2 points), employment (+4 , 8 points) and to a lesser extent, the household economy (+1.3 points).

For its part, the expectations indicator fell 1.6 points to stand at 99.7 points as a result of the worst prospects expressed by respondents for the Spanish economy (-3.3 points) and the labor market (- 1.8 points), whereas expectations about family finances improved slightly (+0.2 points). It is the first time since October 2009 in which this indicator low of 100 integers.

"The quarterly and annual increase of the indicator, and the improvement of the expectations of savings and purchase of consumer durables, can advance a moderate improvement in private consumption in 2010," the Institute.
